Fridman Gallery is pleased to present a solo exhibition of a new body of work by Wura-Natasha Ogunji. At once figurative and abstract, Ogunji’s delicately stitched drawings reflect electric moments in the cosmopolis of Lagos, Nigeria. Using fine, colorful threads, graphite, and ink on layers of architectural tracing paper, her vibrant scenes explore the intermediary potential of drawing. With a lyrical exploration of sensuality, particularly through the visual repetition of disembodied eyes and lips, her fluid style creates a confluence of landscape, form, and conscious connection.
