Gibson has performed to critical acclaim throughout the United States and Europe and is known for his interpretations of wide-ranging musical styles, from the Baroque to the most contemporary. Considered a specialist in the avant-garde, Gibson has premiered music by John Cage, Morton Feldman, Lukas Foss, Phill Niblock, David Behrman, Julius Eastman, Mary Jane Leach, Joel Chadabe, Harley Gabor, Ornette Coleman, Amy Williams, Yungwha Son, and others. David Behrman’s “From the Other Ocean” for Lovely Records was on the New York Times 1984 list of the year’s ten best.
